The immedia ecosystem has kicked off the new decade with fifteen (15) new Cloud Certifications attained in 2019, off the back of a rapid internal training focus on Microsoft Azure technologies.
This strategic focus reflects the commitment of the KZN-based Independent Software Vendor (ISV) to empower local small-to-medium enterprises with human-centred support along their digital transformation journey, and brings immedia’s total Azure certifications to 20, complemented by an additional 5 certifications specific to the Microsoft 365 discipline.
Led by Bevan Andriés, Technical Director at immedia, a third of the new certifications are based on Microsoft’s Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) course that demystifies the various Microsoft Azure services, pricing models, and different cloud models, thereby being perfectly positioned as the foundational learning area for client-focused functions such as Sales, Account Management and Finance.
“After commencing our cloud strategy a few years ago, we soon realised that while our clients and partners have all heard about cloud, there is still a fair amount of uncertainty and ambiguity in the industry about the benefits of investing in cloud,” shares Bevan. “It quickly became a key objective that our entire business needed to be made “cloud aware” so we can all better support our clients while their businesses embark on the change management process that comes with cloud adoption.”
immedia's cloud skilling efforts were strengthened through training events and exam support from Indirect Cloud Services Provider, Tarsus on Demand.
“It’s all about how we can help enable and empower our partners, with a specific focus on ISVs, in driving better business outcomes for the customer at the end of the day," adds Shaun Lubbe, Business Development Manager at Tarsus on Demand. "Without partner-focused initiatives such as these training sessions, there wouldn’t be the vibrant, collaborative ecosystem that we have today, and customers wouldn’t be able to have their unique technology problem solved with the skill and value that teams such as immedia can provide.”
The learners’ self-study was supported by immedia’s own team of Azure Architects who helped navigate through tricky scenarios by supplementing the theory with practical, experience-based examples of how immedia has implemented and optimised Azure services within various client environments – as well as their own “born in the cloud” product over the past 5 years.
This approach proved so successful, that immedia is now offering learning support to corporate teams who are entering the world of Cloud Computing.
immedia's team of Cloud Architects now include the following earned credentials:
Azure Administrator Associate
Azure Developer Associate
Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
Azure Security Engineer Associate
Azure Solutions Architect Expert
In addition to the rigorous focus on foundational learning, immedia’s 2019 was also characterised by the establishment of key industry partnerships to help amplify the value to be offered to the country’s most “Cloud Curious” entities.
Geek Managed Services, the managed services arm of immedia, in 2019 successfully delivered multiple cloud migration and Office 365 projects for clients within the greater Durban region, and are looking forward to a slate of exciting new projects in the new year.
